Stewkley Net can describe two things
a new community web site promoting business and services, Stewkley Net
or the infra-structure that might exist in our village to allow local computer networking. Local Mesh
Alongside the website there is also a proposal to provide free wi-fi access to a computer network in Stewkley Village
Could provide:
- Independent Social Communications
- Community Internet Radio
- Voice store and forward
- Advice in emergency
It would need several "locations" for small antennas in Stewkley, for the wi-fi network to provide coverage
Would not be in competition with broadband providers, but the location of antennas are important for coverage.
We would be pleased to find more villagers, that would consider being involved, supporting these new ideas - hoping they are good ideas.
