Creeping Buttercup
Creeping Buttercup - Ranunculus repens
Flowering - March - June.
Height - 30- 90cm
The Creeping Buttercup often grows in dense
clumps as shown left. There are some to be found in the spinney.
The leaf is larger than that of the other buttercups. And the sepals are not turned down like those of the bulbous buttercup
It is considered a real problem by farmers as it propagates readily by runners, hence its name.
Also cattle do not eat it, as it has an unpleasant taste.
